Your Privacy

DNP3 SimX does not collect, transmit to us, or share any personal data. The app has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. It connects only to the DNP3 outstation devices you choose to configure.

What the App Stores

The following is stored locally on your device only:

Connection settings — the host, port, master and outstation addresses, timers, and poll interval parameters you enter.
Commands and values you type into the Commands screen (CROB and analog output indices, values, qualifiers).
Monitor points and frame logs — the live point table and the frame console are kept in memory only and are cleared when you close the app or tap Clear.

None of this is transmitted to the developer. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored.

Device Connections

DNP3 SimX is a telecontrol test tool: its entire purpose is to act as a master (controlling station) and connect to the DNP3 outstation devices that you specify. When you connect, the app exchanges DNP3 protocol frames directly with that device over a TCP connection. The data exchanged travels between your device and that outstation only.

Those devices are operated by you or by third parties (for example an RTU, a substation gateway, or an outstation simulator on your own or your employer's infrastructure). They are not controlled by the developer of DNP3 SimX and are governed by their own policies. Please review the policy of any device or network you connect to.

Local Network Access

iOS may ask permission for DNP3 SimX to access devices on your local network. This is used solely to reach DNP3 outstation devices running on your LAN (such as an RTU, a gateway, or an outstation simulator on a PC or Raspberry Pi). The app does not scan, catalog, or report devices on your network.

No Tracking, No Ads, No Accounts

DNP3 SimX contains no analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting tools, or tracking frameworks. There are no user accounts. The app makes no network requests other than the device connections you initiate.

Payment

DNP3 SimX is a one-time paid app with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. All payment is handled by Apple's App Store. The developer does not receive, store, or process any payment information.

Children's Privacy

DNP3 SimX does not collect data from anyone. Since no personal data leaves the device to the developer, there are no age-based restrictions on data handling.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
